Advocacy, education and outreach in support of Vancouver's public spaces

When it comes to creating awesome social gatherings in public spaces, partnerships, passion and creativity are fundamental. The Vancouver Public Space Network works with many local organizations to hold public space events – from the Vancouver Business Improvement Association to the Museum of Vancouver to Spacing Magazine. We have also received support from the City of Vancouver. This support can be in the form granting permission to temporarily close streets or providing financial support through public space funding programs, like Viva Vancouver.

These organizations are passionate about creating spaces in cities where people can get together and have fun in interesting and creative ways – whether it is creating a park out of parking space, a lunch meet on a busy street or an impromptu, group drum session. Here are some examples of VPSN projects that celebrate the social use of public spaces.
