Walking Tours: Grandview: Places of Worship and Carrall Street
Join us for our first walking tour of the year when we explore the sacred sites of Grandview. As you wander the streetscapes, you will also get to stop inside historic places of worship including St. Francis of Assisi, home to Franciscan monks from the 1920s to 1990s and the Catholic diocese since 1939, and The Cultch, originally the Grandview Methodist Church, converted into the East Side Cultural Centre in the 1970s and now a vibrant arts venue. Hear the unique stories of a few of the religious buildings that have evolved with this neighbourhood along with the history of this changing area. The tour will go inside at least four sites while also exploring the neighbourhood.
