Say Hi To A Stranger
An upcoming event that is utilizing public spaces throughout Vancouver to generate friendliness and an awareness of the Communities where we live. The organization is called SayHitoaStranger and they are launching our 3rd edition of this event August 21-23.
Schedule is as follows:
August 21 – Opening Party at Grandview park ( joining the Commercial Drive Street Party)
August 22 – Street Teams will be at Various locations around town saying ‘Hi!’ and handing out buttons for folks who say Hi! back so they can get free goodies from our Community Partners ( local businesses)
August 23 – Closing Party at Creative Coworkers – This is not a public space but it is a party being thrown for all those we met and who engaged with us over the weekend. There will be food and music.
Details can be found here.
“Note to attendees: We support everyone having a great time in Vancouver’s parks, but please treat them with respect. We’ve been contacted by community members that are concerned because the last Grandview party resulted in a lot of garbage being left behind. Please be good park stewards and pack-out/recycle materials – and aim to leave the park in better shape than you found it.”
