LightWaterDrums Festival

January 24, 2015
5:30 PM – 9 PM

Come join the celebration at this FREE community event. As its name suggests, the festival combines the themes of “Light” using fire, lanterns, candles and installations in the Park that glow with light in the dark; “Water” which is the rain, pools, ponds and the underground stream running through the park; and “Drums”, the joyful noise of celebrations!

Gather between 5:30 and 6:00 pm at the NE corner of Hastings and Renfrew to enjoy live entertainment prior to a music-filled lantern procession with Carnival Band and Bloco Energia beginning at 6:00pm. After the lantern procession around the Sanctuary at Hastings Park, enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate (minimum $1 donation for each item) while watching an amazing outdoor fire performance set to music by Radiant Heat. Warm up inside the Garden Auditorium next with lots of fun and interactive activities including music, dancing, face painting, CircusWest escapades and more until 9pm.

For more information, volunteer opportunities, and workshops leading up to the event please visit the LightWaterDrums Facebook event page here.

LightWaterDrums festival is a winter lantern festival hosted by the Hastings North Community Partners Group (HNCPG).
