After his much talked about lecture last October at SFU, Michael Kluckner revisits the topic of gentrification while investigating the heritage connection. Looking back at Vancouver’s history of development, housing changes, and a changing retail landscape, Kluckner investigates if heritage and gentrification will be inevitably linked as the city grows. This illustrated lecture will look at neighbourhoods such as Gastown and Coal Harbour, as well as Woodward’s and the Commercial Drive area.
