Annual Incorporation Day Luncheon talk – The Urban Food Revolution: Local Food Comes Full Circle
Sponsored by the Vancouver Historical Society, Peter Ladner will talk about how citizens, communities and municipalities across North America are working to get more control over their food in response to the growing insecurity of globalized industrialized food supplies. This new priority on “local food” hearkens back to the days of the first European settlers and First Nations when all food was local and farmland was plentiful. Mr. Ladner, a former Vancouver City Councillor (2002-2008) is author of The Urban Food Revolution: Changing the Way We Feed Cities.
