Designers Talk: Porch Parade and Robson Redux (2015)

June 28, 2015
3 PM – 4:30 PM

Join the Museum of Vancouver for an afternoon design talk, followed by a meet and greet with Chicago-based architects Stewart Hicks and Allison Newmeyer – the winners of VIVA Vancouver’s Robson Redux Design-Build Competition for 2015.

Admission: Adult $14 | Seniors & Students $11 | Youth $8 | MOV Members Free | Includes admission to all MOV exhibitions, including the astonishing Stefan Sagmeister: The Happy Show
Tickets here.

Hicks and Newmeyer will provide insight into their winning design “Porch Parade”, which will be an ad hoc arrangement of front porches in vibrant colours. The design features a collection of porches that appear abstract at first, but when full of visitors, becomes a lively and familiar atmosphere for downtown Vancouver.

The goal of VIVA Vancouver’s Robson Redux competition is to temporarily transform the iconic 800-block of Robson Street, in the heart of downtown Vancouver, Canada, into an inviting and enjoyable pedestrian plaza for the summer season.

Talk to be followed by light refreshments and mingling.

Event brought to you in partnership with VIVA Vancouver.
