As the year draws to a close and the passing of the solstice brings a return to light, we’d like to extend our warmest greetings to you all.

On behalf of all of us at the Vancouver Public Space Network, we wish you and your loved ones a very happy winter holiday. However it is that you choose to celebrate, we hope the coming days bring you the joy of good gatherings, the opportunity for reflection on the year past, and a chance to make some inspiring plans for the coming months. We also hope that you’ll take the opportunity to visit some of the city’s beautiful parks and plazas, or enjoy a wander along one of the many high streets that enliven our home town. There’s so much to see in Vancouver’s urban spaces! (And of course, lots of specifically seasonal fun to be had at VanDusen, Stanley Park, or your nearest toboggan hill!)

Take a moment to check in on your neighbours as well. Amidst the bright times, this is a point in the year when many people struggle, or face extra challenges. An extra greeting or simple act of kindness can go along way. Let’s close the year by remembering the importance of compassion and community.

We’re looking forward to more public space adventures with you in 2023. Stay safe. Keep warm. Big Hug.
