Attention public space animators, placemakers and interested volunteers! The VPSN is working with community members in Kitsilano and West Point Grey, as well as our good friends at HUB Cycling, to hold a Seaside Greenway Party on Saturday, July 5 between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm.

The purpose: to celebrate the completion of a great new public realm gem in Vancouver.

The idea is to have a series of small, sweet little activations along the Greenway. There are several beautiful little pocket parks en route, and there’s a great chance to use these spaces as sites of fun and creativity.

If you have a placemaking idea that you want to test, or a small public space project you’ve been wanting to land somewhere… here’s your opportunity!

Artistic interventions, mini-scavenger hunts, walking tours, a potluck picnic, creative bike rides along the Greenway. There are lots of possibilities. We’re looking for your help to get some of these into play.

We’re also looking for general day-of assistance. So even if you don’t have a specific idea, there are lots of little jobs that could use a hand.

Email Seaside Project Coordinator Paola Qualizza at paola@vancouverpublicspace.ca if you have any ideas or fill out this form to volunteer.

And… if you’re only able to come out and share in the celebration, please do! This will be a great family-friendly event. Please tell your friends and get set to join in the fun!
