Public space includes the sky!
Vancouver’s parks play host to a wide range of activities – from tennis to tai chi, from picnics to pitch ‘n putt… but among the coolest to watch is kite-flying.
The city’s off-shore breezes make kiting particularly dramatic at ocean-side parks such as New Brighton, English Bay and Jericho (to name three).
The picture above, taken earlier today by VPSN member Yvonne Hii, comes from Kitsilano Point. It captures several kite fliers showing their stuff – a dance of synchronized swirls and arcs above the weekend beach-goers.
