Georgia gets grand for the Canucks
The game may not being so well at the moment (the Canucks are down 4-0 at the end of the second) but Georgia Street is alive with people watching game 3 of the Stanley Cup.
At least as far back as the 1927 Bartholomew Plan Georgia Street was initially conceived as a grand ceremonial avenue for the city. It hasn’t often well-utilized in this respect… at least not in recent decades. Tonight’s game is giving us a glimpse of something different – the possibilities that can come with re-purposing our ‘big’ streets for other uses.
Now… time to score a goal!
