VPSN October 2006 Meeting
The VPSN’s next monthly meeting will take place on Thursday, October 12 and will be held in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood at
Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House
4065 Victoria Drive
7:00 – 9:00pm
The meeting will feature an overview of recent public space issues and concerns, as well as updates on the Network’s activities, including the surveillance camera mapping project, billboard research and public space advocacy.
At the last few meetings we have attempted to balance updates and brainstorming with activity-related workshops. At this meeting we will be continuing this trend by offering a primer-course in guerilla urban forestry – to coincide with our 1000 Cedars in Cedar Cottage initiative. Attendees at the meeting will get the dirt on the VPSN’s reforestation program, learn the basics of the City’s tree-bylaws and related policies, and have the opportunity to put their learnings to the test with their very own trowel and seedling.
Additional details on the gathering will be posted shortly… but as always you can count on the usual mix of lively discussion, strategizing and tasty snacks. Come on out and bring a friend!
