West End Community Hub – Visioning Workshop for Indigenous Peoples (in person) featuring artist Cory Douglas

The City of Vancouver is hosting a series of events related to the W.E. Connect engagement process for the renewal of the West End Community Hub (the site that includes the West End Community Centre, Joe Fortes Library, King George Secondary School).

There are a number of visual assets available here, and they recently published a YouTube video featuring the Indigenous and community artists who are involved in W.E. Connect.

This free in-person workshop with Coast Salish artist Cory Douglas is for Indigenous persons. It will focus on Indigenous presence in the West End, and how these ideas can inform the vision for the future West End Community Hub. Dinner will be served.

This free online workshop with artist Ken Boesem will focus on the theme of lifelong learning and public spaces. The West End Community Centre Association will help set the context. Participants will also share their own stories of the West End. Then, we’ll help develop a vision for the future West End Community Hub by exploring stories submitted by the community.
