Broadway East Art Walk is proud to announce this new project designed to empower community members with valuable skills to create neighbourhood pride through short film.

Three experienced film mentors will be leading a FREE 2-day short film workshop (August 23+24 at the Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House, 800 E Broadway) that will provide participants with the basic skills needed to make their own short film. The aim is to expose people with little or no prior experience to the tools and methods required to produce a short film in the hopes that they will consider submitting it to the Broadway East Art Walk’s Community Film Festival taking place in October. View the film mentor profiles here.

To apply please visit Broadway East Art Walk’s website. Please note that although not everyone will be accepted to participate in the workshop, the sessions will be recorded and made available to the public on the Broadway East Art Walk website. Preference will be given to applicants who work, volunteer or live in Mount Pleasant. Applications will close by August 15 and decisions will be communicated by August 17.
