Dia de Muertos – Day of the Dead 2022

“Join us this Saturday for ‘Dia de Muertos – Day of the Dead 2022′ – part of the Ancestral Ways Food Festival, a platform for Indigenous Knowledge holders to share ancestral food practices. Create ofrendas (Offerings) to honor our loved ones that have made their journey to Mictlan (spirit world).

An altar will be decorated with bright flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the ones being honored. These offerings encourage visits from the dead as their souls hear the prayers, smell the foods, and join in the celebrations.

A special offering will be displayed to honor MMIWG2S+.

Please bring:
– Pictures of your departed loved ones
– Food and beverage offerings for the altar

Ancestral Food Ways Festival is a community celebration collectively re-envision and transform our foodways.
Featuring the following musicians:

* Carnival Band, community music project.
* HK Higher Knowledge
* Balam Axayacatl
* Pablo Oyarso

Community Traditional meal will be served at no cost.

Table and vendor spaces are on first come, first served basis.
