Chinatown Memorial Plaza Redesign – Open House

April 12, 2025
11 AM – 2 PM

The City of Vancouver is sharing three design concepts(External link) for the Redesign of Chinatown Memorial Square. Three design concepts were created and shaped by input from the community, interest holders, and people from across Vancouver. This is a chance to share your feedback on the three concepts and help develop a final design concept.

In previous engagements, public input lead to the following priorities:

  • Improve Chinatown Memorial Square as a special place that celebrates Chinatown’s rich culture and living traditions.
  • Highlight significant moments in the community’s history and its resilience and strength.
  • Make the Square a flexible, safe, and welcoming pace for all people to connect and celebrate.
  • Provide a mix of fixed and movable seating, trees for shade, lighting, and improved maintenance.
  • Develop a long-term plan for taking care of the space.

Your feedback will help shape the final design concept, which will be shared with the public in Autumn 2025.
