Car Free Day Commercial Drive 2017

Things are shaking up 2017! We’ve changed the festival date to July 9.
13 years ago, the first Car Free Day began as a grassroots initiative by Grandview-Woodlands residents who were concerned about the Gateway highway widening project and the effects of increasing automobile traffic in the neighbourhood. Instead of staging a traditional protest, the founders of Car Free Commercial Drive created a street festival where locals could engage and rethink the range of uses for neighbourhood streets. There are now Car Free Day celebrations in Vancouver’s West End and Main Street in addition to the Drive.
Car Free Day Commercial Drive is currently accepting applications for volunteers, entertainers, vendors as well as food and beverage providers. To learn more, visit http://
