Here’s a cool chance for public space fans on the North Shore – and perhaps those who visit there – to come up with ideas for North Van’s public realm.

As reported by Sean Kolenko in the North Shore Outlook, the Café for Contemporary Art will be reserving the walls of their gallery space for people’s ideas – written or visual – on the nature of good public space. The initiative is loosely linked with waterfront planning work currently underway in the community, but the intent of the project is to be broader in scope.

According to Kolenko

The idea-sharing process is aimed at creating a dialogue with the community about what works and doesn’t work in common urban areas. Some of the questions café staff have proposed for the series are: What is your ideal public space? What is the best public space you have ever visited?

You can find the the Café for Contemporary Art at 140 E. Esplanade Ave.
