An important update though: we’ve decided to change the location!

We’re currently knee-deep in work-party activities for our upcoming laneway activation… so rather than head to Third Beach, as we originally planned, we’ll be holding the AGM closer to our worksite.

To that end, an exciting twist: the AGM will take place at Beecher Park – 1255 Springer Avenue, Burnaby | Map. (Look for us on the east side of the park, just north of the creek.)

We don’t often do activities outside of Vancouver, but it’s always a treat when we do. It’s a good way to reflect on the Vancouver scene. Beecher is a cool urban park located in Brentwood, and has a lovely salmon bearing stream that runs through it ( atributary of Still Creek). It’s also a few blocks south from ‘the Heights’ on Hastings Street – a fine high street neighbourhood that shows yet another side to this busy and eclectic corridor. Both the park and the broader neighbourhood are easily accessible by public transit or bike.

About the AGM

As a registered non-profit, we hold an Annual General Meeting to officially fulfill our obligations under the BC Societies Act.

The formal meeting part of the day is will include a presentation of our Annual Report, as well as nominations and elections for our Board of Directors.

Anyone in attendance can participate in discussions, but note that voting on resolutions, motions, and the election of the Board is limited to members in good standing.

The meeting is open to all, but to help us with planning for the event we’d ask that you send us a quick email to confirm if you plan to attend.

Immediately following the conclusion of the AGM, we will convene the first meeting of the new Board of Directors.
