Drinking Fountains

The City of Vancouver has a map of all regular and temporary drinking fountains in the City.

Misting Stations

At present, there are eight temporary misting stations in the city:

• Columbia St and Powell St (Northeast corner)
• Robson St and Cardero St (Southwest corner)
• Granville St and West 10th Ave (Northeast corner)
• Commercial Drive and East 10th Ave (Northeast corner)
• Thornton Park (East side across from Pacific Central)
• Andy Livingston Park (Northwest corner)
• Nelson Park (Southeast corner)
• West Blvd and W 45th Ave (Southeast corner)

Air Condition Places / Cooling Centres (Community Centres & Libraries)

The City has a map of community centres, libraries, and pools (PDF), which you can access here.

The following City facilities are air-conditioned:

Community Centres

• Britannia – 1661 Napier Street (at Commercial Drive)
• Carnegie – 401 Main Street (at Hastings) – open until 11:00pm
• Evelyn Saller Centre – 320 Alexander St (at Gore)
• Gathering Place – 609 Helmcken St (at Seymour) – open 8:30am to midnight
• Hillcrest – 4575 Clancy Loranger Way (Ontario St & E 29th)
• Kerrisdale – 5851 West Boulevard
• Mt. Pleasant – 1 Kingsway (at E 7th Ave)
• Ray-Cam – 920 E Hastings Ave (at Campbell)
• Roundhouse – 181 Roundhouse Mews (Pacific Blvd & Davie St)
• West End – 870 Denman St (at Haro)

Another 17 Community Centres are open, but not air-conditioned

All Vancouver Public Libraries are air-conditioned.

Beaches and Pools

Beaches

Vancouver beaches are all open; however two beaches currently (Jun 28) have e-coli advisories in place. Swimming is not advised in either Sunset Beach (West End), and Oasis Beach (UBC).

Swimming Pools

Vancouver has several popular indoor and outdoor pools. Note: During COVID Drop-ins not allowed/Registration is required.

Spray Parks and Wading Pools

• Wading pools are now open at Grays Park and Woodland Park.
