VPSN member Audrey L. has started a petition to use the recently-closed Storyeum building (on Water Street in Gastown) as a temporary housing shelter to help get people off the streets. As she notes, “the City owns Storyeum and it would take only a short time to open the doors…there is no reason for the DTES to have five times the death rate when compared to other neighbourhood populations.”
