The noble looking building at the corner of Granville is the original Birks Building (now London Drugs), and the Strand building next to it is the current location of the Scotia Tower.</span></span></div>

<p>The game may not being so well at the moment (the Canucks are down 4-0 at the end of the second) but Georgia Street is alive with people watching game 3 of the Stanley Cup.</p>
<p>At least as far back as the 1927 Bartholomew Plan Georgia Street was initially conceived as a grand ceremonial avenue for the city. It hasn&#8217;t often well-utilized in this respect&#8230; at least not in recent decades. Tonight&#8217;s game is giving us a glimpse of something different &#8211; the possibilities that can come with re-purposing our &#8216;big&#8217; streets for other uses.</p>
<p>Now&#8230; time to score a goal!</p>
