Advocacy, education and outreach in support of Vancouver's public spaces

The City of Vancouver has its own surveillance policy (though, it is inconsistent in respecting its terms) which governs the City’s public surveillance cameras.

In different neighbourhoods, Business Improvement Associations employ private security services, and Community Policing Patrols offer alternative policing services.

The British Columbia Civil Liberties Association, headed by former VPSN Board member and Surveillance Working Group Coordinator Josh Paterson, is a strong advocate for just and equitable surveillance and security policy.
