Congratulations to our public space defending friends in Toronto for winning a huge victory at city council: a tax on billboards, with revenues dedicated to funding art in public space! Advocates in the city have fought for this for years!
Now companies that profit from filling the viewscape with giant ads will have to contribute to making the city more beautiful. A big public space high five to the Toronto Public Space Network, the Beautiful City Billboard Fee team, Spacing, illegalsigns.ca and ManifesTO!
