Places That Matter Community Celebration
Celebrate Heritage Week, with Heritage Vancouver. This free event features speakers, musicians, food and refreshments, and community display.

Join us to learn about some of the special places recognized in the Places That Matter project, and hear about them from the people and organizations involved in bringing their history forward. The Places That Matter project highlights the lesser-known places, people and events that have shaped Vancouver. This free celebration includes displays from a variety of organizations, institutions and individuals related to Places That Matter sites and local history, a short program of storytelling, as well as live music and refreshments. Aaron Chapman, author, musician and historian will be the MC for the evening. We will also have updates on the project and new ways to get involved.

6-7pm Open House Community Displays: Chinatown Storytelling Centre, Chinese Canadian Historical Society of BC, Choklit Park, City of Vancouver Archives, Illustrated Vancouver, Jewish Museum and Archives of BC, Mount Pleasant Heritage Group, Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre, Out for Lunch Noon Hour Concerts at the Vancouver Art Gallery, SFU Special Collections, Société historique francophone de la Colombie-Britannique, South Vancouver History, Vancouver Arts Colloquium Society, Vancouver Historical Society, Vancouver School Board Archives, and more.
