Hein

Our next VPSN monthly meet-up focuses on Parks and Open Spaces.

We’re delighted to welcome back UBC Urban Design Professor Scot Hein, who will share work from the first 5 years of UBC’s Masters of Urban Design Program, including the recent 2018 Fall Studio that focused on the future of Chinatown. Students researched, talked to communities, and proposed new ideas for public streets and plazas.

Ideas to be explored include incrementalism, building typologies, challenges in allotting land for public spaces, community engagement, activity zones, and the upcoming Vancouver City-wide Plan.

We also want to hear from you! After the lecture we will have a group discussion about vision and about volunteer opportunities. We want your help to refine our 2019 / 2020 goals for Vancouver’s parks and open spaces.
