Wishing everyone a warm and cozy holiday – with lots of good times with family, friends, and loved ones – and a few excellent public space adventures thrown in for good measure. (Maybe a wander over to VanDusen Gardens to see the lights, or down to Stanley Park for the Bright Nights Christmas Train – or a nice walk around your part of town to see some of the amazing holiday displays that your neighbours have put up!)

2018 has been a good year, and we’re looking forward to another exciting roster of activities in 2019. Now that winter has officially started and the solstice has passed, there are longer days ahead – as well as some seasonally-appropriate initiatives coming up in the first few months of the new year.

For those looking for some inspiration for your annual resolutions, we’ll be holding our next volunteer orientation in mid-January. Shortly after that, we’ll be kicking off Life Between Umbrellas – our design competition for rain-friendly public spaces. To round things out, our January meet-up will be focused on streets and transportation.

But that’s all a few weeks away yet. In the meantime, big hugs and all the very best wishes for the holidays and the New Year.

p.s. For the brave at heart: don’t forget the Polar Bear Swim. This year marks the 99th edition, making this one of Vancouver’s longest-running public space traditions!
