The VPSN”s Annual General Meeting was held earlier this week at Creekside Community Centre. There was a great turn-out, and lots of good discussion about the Network, its governance, and about our upcoming public space activities.

The election results of the Board of Directors are as follows:

  • Paola Qualizza (Chair)
  • Michelle Pollard (Vice-Chair)
  • Stewart Burgess (Secretary-Treasurer)
  • Selina Bull
  • Caitriona Feeney
  • Karen Fung
  • Wendee Lang
  • Mitchell Reardon

Welcome to new Board members Selina, Wendee and Mitchell! We’ll be updating our bio page shortly, so you can learn more about these fine folk!

The AGM also saw a few Board members step down:

  • Jonathan Bleakley
  • Savannah Kuchera
  • Aateka Shashank
  • Christie Wall

Thanks Jonathan, Savannah, Aateka and Christie for your great work! We’re looking forward to future collaborations in other projects.

The AGM also saw a series of proposals discussed that would reshape the VPSN working group structure to better align with our various areas of focus, as well as the Network’s strategic priorities, namely:

  1. Public space advocacy
  2. Placemaking, interventions and events
  3. Research
  4. Communications and outreach

We’ll be updating our website to reflect these changes shortly. Stay tuned for more details!
