Happy New Year!

East Van cross
The recently installed Monument for East Vancouver by artist Ken Lum.  Part of the Olympic art program, the 60ft cross has generated quite a buzz since it went up at 6th and Clark a week ago.  Photo: Yvonne Hii.

Our Transportation Working Group is currently developing a project that will look at how residents use sustainable transportation options (walking, biking or transit) for their shopping needs – and the impact that these transit decisions can have on planning for more environmentally-friendly transportation amenities.  The next project meeting is Thursday, Jan. 21, 6pm at JJ Bean on 402 Davie Street (corner of Davie and Homer, near Yaletown Skytrain Stn.)

We’re also moving ahead with our Pedestrian Safety Project and will have more to announce on this initiative in the next few weeks.
